Powder Coating
All Steel Magnolia products whether steel or aluminum are powder coated.
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish. The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed onto the surface. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality and attractive finish.
Benefits of Powder coating
Powder coating offers a superior finish and excellent durability for about the same cost as professional painting. The durability of powder coated steel or aluminum decreases the cost of maintenance and extends the life of the product, especially when the product is exposed to the harsh North Western elements. Color selections are virtually unlimited with high and low gloss, metallic, special effects and clear finisher available. Colors stay bright and vibrant longer. In contrast to normal paint this coating doesn’t sag, run, drip, or bubble.
Environmental Benefits
Powder coating is an environmental friendly process unlike solvent-based wet paint systems. With EPA regulations growing ever stricter, powder coating is fast becoming the technology of choice. Since the powder coating process does not use solvents in any way, VOC emissions problems are eliminated. Simply stated, powder coating is the safer, cleaner, greener choice.
